Description
If you are wondering about where to taste a good glass of wine or a natural olive oil, pin this destination on your travel map
The Berioli’s farm is an old reality that has been in Montesperello of Magione since the begging of 1900 and that gives you the opportunity to rediscover the importance of two products such as olive oil and wine which represented the most profitable product for a family at those times. By being accompanied by Roberto Berioli, his wife Cristina and their children Matteo and Assunta, you will get into their personal motto which is “because the wine is made in the vineyard”, and discover also through them all the accuracy they put in their 12 hectares of soil, not to mention the attachment to tradition that they are still pursuing. As a matter of fact, they produce wine and oil by adopting their ancestors’ method, consequently considering their result a precious product of the earth.
You will reach this farm by going to Montesperello, on the hillside, so around Trasimeno Lake, in Umbria, halfway between the town of Magione and Corciano, and it lasts only 12 km from Perugia.
In addition, the vineyards are divided into four groups:
- Topporosso: the first vineyards replanted with Merlot
- Spiridione: the peculiar characteristic of this vineyard is that one it belonged to the Bettoni’s family and Pasqualino was its owner. This man boasted of drinking a bottle of wine a day and died at the age of 98 years
- Vercanto: the largest vineyard where you will find both red and white wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot (red grapes), Grechetto and Chardonnay (white grapes)
- Other vineyards: three additional vineyards
In the end, for organic products lovers, this is an unmissable place, trust us!
